How to Get to the Hotels

The participants of the Calphad conference will stay in the following hotels:

All those hotels are located close to the Old Town, within the walking distance from the Conference Center (Sw. Anny 12) (see map: http://www.calphad.krakow.pl/place.html ).

Parking - For those who need parking, the CRACOVIA Hotel and University Hotel (Bursa im.S.Pigonia) offer their own but extra charged parking lots .

On the website you can find information about the airport services: information desk, mother and baby room, first aid, bank, post office, ticket office, catering facilities, duty free shop, foreign newspapers and magazines, facilities for the disabled, chapel, exchange office, executive lounge, shops, travel agency, luggage trolleys, renting car office.

Kraków-Balice International Airport (Port Lotniczy) is located in the south of Poland, 11 km west of Krakow, at the altitude of 241 m above the sea level.

The northern border of the airport is adjacent to Kraków-Katowice motorway, in the west it is situated next to Morawica, in the east the airport borders with a motorway in the direction of Tarnów and the southern part of the airport is used by technical services and facilities of the military air transport base and the civil airport.

From Krakow-Balice International Airport (Port Lotniczy) you can get to the Hotels in three ways:

• By chartered buses
• By regular city bus
• By Taxi

CHARTERED BUSES
Mini-buses chartered by Organizers leave the Krakow-Balice Airport on Sunday, May 30 at 11:30 , 15:30 and 20:30. Look for the Guide with the CALPHAD XXXIII sign near the airport building for assistance with the transport service .

REGULAR CITY BUS
Please, take the bus line 192. It will take you from the Krakow-Balice Airport to the CRACOVIA Hotel or Student Dormitory ZACZEK (bus stop "Cracovia"), near the University Hotel (Bursa im.S.Pigonia), (bus stop "Basztowa") and near University Hotel (Dom Goscinny UJ), Florianska 49, (bus stop "Dworzec Glowny"). From 5:00 to 23:35 you will have a bus leaving two or three times per hour. The trip takes about 35 minutes and a ticket costs PLN 2.40. Please, be careful and watch your documents and luggage.

The present currency is 1 EUR= PLN 4.7 (Polish zloty).

TAXI
A Taxi from the airport to the center of the city costs PLN 50-60 in the day hours and 50% more in the late evening hours. Before getting into the Taxi , please, fix the actual costs with the driver.

• BY TRAIN

Krakow Glowny - The Main Railway Station - is located very near the Old Town. When leaving the Station tunnel, please, go in the direction "Peron 1". Outside the building you can find Taxi or public transport stops. If you know the Krakow Glowny Station from your earlier visits, please, be careful because you can find significant changes in the surroundings of the building. Due to a large renovations, some objects are in different places than thay were before. The public transport stops are about 100 m from the Station building (direction "Hotel Europejski") in Lubicz Street.

Tickets must be punched on boarding the bus or tram, They are available at newspaper kiosks and Municipal Transport Company stands (MPK) . Available from drivers are only single trip tickets, offered for a surcharge. Regular price for a single trip ticket is PLN 2.40

How to get to the CRACOVIA Hotel, Focha 1
You can get to the Hotel by Taxi (cost - about PLN 20) or using the tram line 15 or the bus line 192. The trip takes 10-12 minutes and a ticket costs PLN 2.40 (the present currency is 1 EUR= PLN 4.7 (Polish zloty)). If you use tram or bus lines, please, get off at the 4th stop ("Cracovia") . Now, you will be just in front of the Hotel.

How to get to the University Hotel (Bursa im.S.Pigonia), Garbarska 7a
The distance between the Krakow Glowny - the Main Railway Station and the Hotel is about 1 km. From the Station you can take the tram line 14 or 15 and get off at the 1-st stop ("Basztowa"). Then, you will have to walk about 300 m along the street "Basztowa", and next turn right to Garbarska. Street.

How to get to the University Hotel (Dom Goscinny UJ), Florianska 49
The hotel is in the 5-7 minute walking distance (about 500 m) from the Station and you don't need to use any transportation. When leaving the Station building, please, go in the direction "Hotel Europejski", then, go down to the subway and finally going across a kind of the park (Planty) and Pijarska Street you will find Florianska.

How to get to the Student Dormitory ZACZEK, Aleja 3 Maja 5

How to Get to the Conference Center

The Conference Center is located at the Jagiellonian University - Collegium Medicum, Sw.Anny 12, the place close to the Old Town. All the hotels where the participants will stay are within the walking distance (10 minutes) from the Conference Center (see map: http://www.calphad.krakow.pl/place.html ).
