Aim of the Conference
Calphad conferences has been regularly held since 1973 and provides an opportunity for worldwide phase diagram community to meet, present and discuss their work, Topics include, but are not limited to:Ab initio (first principles) calculations
Metallic systems
Non-metallic systems
Amorphous materials
Nano systems
Software and database development
Industrial applications
Integration of CALPHAD modeling and phase-field simulations
Modeling of diffusion and phase transformation
Coupling of thermodynamic and material properties modeling
According to tradition, there will be no parallel sessions, and each day will include both oral and poster presentations. Computer demonstrations and tabletop displays from participants are also welcome.
Conference Location
Hotel Pyramida is in the walking distance from Prague Castle in the quiet living district of Prague. Distance from Prague Airport (code PRG) is 10 km and the traffic information will follow in the 2nd Announcement.Prague is well known for Prague Castle and its well preserved medieval old town, jewish quarter, many museums, galleries and parks.
Social Program
Active social program is planed for accompanying persons. More information will be available soon on the conference website.Information for students and young scientists
Limited support, included limited cheaper accommodation at university dormitory, will be available for students and young scientists. The conditions for application will be announced in the second announcement. The successful applicants will be informed after March 31. |

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to mark your calendars for the CALPHAD XXXVIII: an International Conference on Phase Diagram Calculation and Computational Thermochemistry in Prague 2009.
Conference Fees
Before January 31, 2009: 450 EURBetween January 31 and March 31, 2009: 500 EUR
Prices include welcome reception, all meals from Monday to Friday noon (lunches and dinners) conference excursion, concert and abstract booklet.
The fee does not include accommodation
Participants will take care of the accommodations themselves.
Accommodation in Pyramida hotel is guaranted for those, who will make reservation on its website-form till January 31, 2009. Price of double room is 115 EUR/night. It is possible to order individual car-transport from the airport in the form.
